knowmore employs Aboriginal staff in all of our offices, who are regularly involved in assisting our clients. Our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Engagement team also has a leading role in our outreach and community engagement activities, including our work in regional, rural and remote areas.
As a program of NACLC, the national peak body of Australia’s community legal centres, knowmore is committed to being guided by the vision, experience and expertise of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and supporting their achieving, in ways of their choice, their goals of recognition, healing, reconciliation and access to justice.
NACLC and the knowmore staff are committed to ensuring that our services are delivered in ways that are culturally safe and respectful for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Be introduced to our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander engagement advisors here. If you would like to have a yarn with Glendra, Dean, Robert, Elsja, Julieanne or Megan, give them at call through our free advice line number 1800 605 762.
When possible and appropriate, knowmore will work in partnership with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander legal service providers. NACLC and the knowmore staff recognise and respect the unique role of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Services and the Family Violence Prevention Legal Services, as specialist and culturally appropriate legal service providers for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
