Four more institutions join the National Redress Scheme

knowmore legal service welcomes the addition of four institutions to the National Redress Scheme. These are:

  • De La Salle Brothers
  • Institute of Sisters of Mercy of Australia & Papua New Guinea
  • The Legacy Club of Brisbane
  • Jewish Care Victoria.

In a statement, Federal Minister for Families and Social Services Paul Fletcher has welcomed the entry of four more institutions into the National Redress Scheme.

“I am pleased that institutions are taking heed of the request for them to join the Redress Scheme as soon as possible,” Mr Fletcher said.

“I cannot over-state the urgency of giving survivors access to redress as soon as they are able.

“As the National Redress Scheme grows and additional institutions join, more applications can be processed and more survivors of institutional child sexual abuse can access support and acknowledgement.”
